Welcome to the Neighborhood | SoHo Edition

Celebrate the opening of our new store in Mercer Street in SoHo – NYC’s go-to culture and shopping destination – with our curated neighborhood tour.

We’re in good company at our new Mercer Street location. Explore our new area and plan the perfect day of food, drinks, culture, and of course shopping.

WHERE TO EAT

Raf’s

Start your day with a pastry from Raf’s, bakery by day and sophisticated bistro by night. French classics such as escargot, house-made bread and dry-aged cote de boeuf are served alongside modern takes on traditional Italian pasta dishes. Fancy a tipple? Their considered wine list and creative cocktails are perfect for enjoying at the lamp-lit, marble-topped bar.

Rubirosa

Famed for their tie-dye Pizza, Rubirosa is the perfect restaurant for a casual dinner surrounded by cosy interiors. Located in the heart of Nolita, this spot is known for its Italian-American classics such as chicken parm, vodka sauce pasta and thin-crust pizzas.

Nom Wah

Proudly serving dim sum and dumplings since the 1920s, Nom Wah is a family-run neighborhood favourite. Today the restaurant serves riffs on Chinese-American classics and rotating Cantonese favourites in a fast-paced, laid-back space. Keep it traditional by enjoying your dim sum dishes with their signature tea.

TIME FOR A DRINK

Felix Roasting Co.

Need a morning pick me up or a rest from shopping? Felix Roasting Co.’s goal to redefine the coffee break delivers an upscale coffee experience – think velvet seating and ornate chandeliers. Their discerning menu includes a selection of classic drinks, alongside innovative signatures such as the Hickory Smoked S’mores latte and nitro cold-brew tea.

Fanelli Café

A neighborhood mainstay since 1847, Fanelli Café is a historic dive-bar pub in the heart of SoHo that was a revered artist hangout in the 1960s-80s. It’s merely steps away from our location, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a quick drink or tuck into fuss-free American classics from hearty breakfasts to B.L.T.s and burgers.

SOAK UP SOME CULTURE

Mercer Street Books & Records

A couple of blocks stroll away, you’ll find Mercer Street Books. Don’t pass by the store’s unassuming façade, it houses stacked shelves packed with books and records in every genre imaginable. The perfect place to get lost for hours, this charismatic haunt is a reminder of the neighborhood’s storied history as a meeting point for artists and creatives.

Judd Foundation

Learn about one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century through the Judd Foundation. Located in an iconic restored building on nearby Spring St, the Judd Foundation is a non-profit space that preserves the home and workspace of renowned minimalist artist Donald Judd. It’s a must-see for lovers of interior design and modern art.

MoMA Design Store

Take a detour to Spring St and explore modern home décor and art at The Museum of Modern Art’s SoHo-based store. So much more than a museum gift shop, this dedicated space houses a curation of homeware for every room, including collections that celebrate some of the museum’s biggest exhibits.

WHERE TO STAY

The Mercer

Located in an impressive landmark Romanesque revival building, The Mercer offers a five-star take on downtown loft living. Rooms boast high ceilings, abundant natural light and exposed brick walls, designed by the celebrated French interior designer and architect Christian Liaigre.

Last but not least…

ME+EM

The final stop in our SoHo guide wouldn’t be complete without the newest addition to the neighborhood. Located in a restored historic cast iron building, our new location marks a union of New York City heritage and ME+EM’s signature intelligent design. The space celebrates the best of London-based interior designers with pieces from Rose Uniacke and Faye Toogood, and calming decor that serves as the perfect canvas to display our monthly collections to enjoy Now + Forever.
