Buying Intern

ME+EM was founded in 2009 by Clare Hornby and has quickly become a go-to brand for the fashion set. Through our love of intelligent style and contemporary aesthetic, we have an obsessive focus on cut, colour and quality with a keen eye for detail. We have 5 London based stores and have recently opened a concession in Selfridges (London & Manchester).

Based in our West London office, we are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and organised Intern to join our growing team. Experience of previous internships in Buying or Merchandising is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent and effective communication skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • High attention to detail
  • Confident IT Skills to be able to work with multiple systems

  • Positive attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Team player who takes ownership
  • Highly organised with a sense of urgency
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment

Role Responsibilities include:

The role will work alongside the Senior Buyers Admin Assistant, providing administrative support to the Buying and Merchandising team through management of the Critical Path, Fit Sessions, daily organising of samples, keeping documents up to date with relevant and accurate information and providing weekly updates to the Senior Buyers Admin Assistant.

We are a small (and therefore very busy) team so we will need a confident communicator to initiate daily contact with the Buying and Merchandising team, as well as suppliers and external contacts to ensure current developments and production is on schedule. IT competency – especially in excel - is also a crucial skill for creating working documents and the Critical Path to manage the movement of samples in and out the office, as well as allowing accurate information to be sent to suppliers to inform about style changes and information ahead of delivery.

Sample organisation will be a key responsibility alongside maintaining our fabric and colour library for each season, processing lab dips, fabrics and trims for approval with the Buyer / JB and keeping an organised filing system. Organising couriers and DHL schedules as required and keeping track of any samples that are sent out of the business for press/photography is also a key aspect of the role.

Collaboration is at the heart of Me+Em and the chosen candidate will have daily contact with all areas of the business including Marketing, Customer Care, Merchandising, Design and Garment Tech. Brochure photoshoots are vital to our success so unlike a normal Buying role, you will have the opportunity to organise and attend the shoots to provide support for the Marketing team by prepping samples and acting as a runner on the day.

We work hard but also have a lot of fun and need a good humoured, team player who is willing to totally immerse themselves in the Me+Em way.

If you possess passion for luxury retail and are willing to learn in a fast paced, fashion buying office
