Established/Senior Wovens Designer

We are currently seeking an established/senior wovens designer to join our growing team in West London.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Collaborating with the Head of Design to design and develop aspirational collections, owning the whole process of design from conception to production
  • Trend and competitor research, research trips
  • Sourcing of raw materials, fabrics and trims, on seasonal trade fairs and trips to manufacturers
  • Building close relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Issuing of technical spec sheets for manufacturers in collaboration with product developer and garment tech team
  • Fitting samples from proto to shipment in collaboration with garment tech team
  • Close collaboration with Buying and Merchandising in the build-up of the collection

  • Expectations:

    • Must have 5+ years of experience in design development across all woven categories
    • Experience in luxury fashion, with a commercial mind-set, understanding the needs of a fast pace fashion brand
    • Strong commercial awareness and ability to design to price point
    • Strong team player, natural at building relationships internally and externally at all levels
    • Proven experience of fitting samples with technical team
    • Confident drawing by hand, but also proficient with Illustrator / Photoshop

Assistant Merchandiser

ME+EM is a British contemporary fashion brand for women offering affordable, designer-quality clothes made with unique attention to fit, fabric and detail. We are a fast-growing business driven by Online success as well as an expanding store portfolio.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is as passionate about our business as we are. This is an exciting time for us, we work in an environment where change and new ideas are celebrated and every person who works here contributes to our future.

As an Assistant Merchandiser you will provide support to the Merchandiser and Junior Merchandiser, in all aspects of trading stock and sales across both Online and stores.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support to the Merchandiser, monitoring delivery process by liaising with Suppliers, Buying and Warehouse, as well as analysis to support decision making.
  • Produce weekly, monthly & seasonal sales, stock & markdown reporting, highlighting any commercial risks / opportunities & suggested actions.
  • In season trading under the direction of junior merchandiser / merchandiser. Sole responsibility of several categories, monitor sales and stock, both at line and channel performance, to identify & recommend profit opportunities and to minimise markdown.
  • Update and maintain WSSI for own categories, identifying commercial risk and opportunity.
  • Manage monthly category sales and returns analysis.
  • Manage sizing analysis to present opportunities to drive sales & profit.
  • Manage both a landed and FOB supply base for stock delivery, highlighting delivery issues to the B&M team and communicating impact to E-com, Finance and Marketing teams.
  • Support the team by effectively managing the markdown administration.
  • Support and develop the Merchandising Administration Assistants in the department.
  • Manage MAA to action store stock allocation and replenishment orders; highlighting stock opportunities by store and line level to Junior Merchandiser.
  • Manage Concession channels by ensuring timely stock deliveries, managing data entry and highlighting sales opportunities/risks to Junior Merchandiser.
  • Ensure all system data is maintain and kept accurate (pricing, descriptions, attributions etc)

  • Skills & Experience:

    • Previous Merchandising experience essential, the role would suit a senior MAA or existing junior AM looking for progression.
    • Excellent numerical skills and strong Microsoft Excel user, adept at working with high volumes of data.
    • Strong administration & analytical skills, who is highly organised with a real attention to detail.
    • Confident and articulate communicator, able to build strong effective relationship.
    • Someone who uses initiative with a hands-on approach and the ability to prioritise.
    • Ability to multi task in our fast paced environment.
    • Proven time management skills.
    • Interest in working within fashion retail.
    • Retail experience is desirable.
