It’s all in the detail
Contrast stitch detailing was a key trend seen across the spring/summer ’18 catwalks. Subtle yet chic, the use of thread in a contrasting colour along hems and to outline shapes – reminiscent of blueprints – is a contemporary detail that is super-easy to incorporate into your wardrobe this season.
“ME+EM’s [Stitch Detail Trousers] come in two silhouettes: the man pant and the crop. Both are satisfyingly weighty, which means they slim thighs and perk up bottoms.” – The Daily Telegraph
Applying the trend to two of our best-selling trouser shapes – our Man Pant and Slim Crop Trouser – means we can combine fashion with function. We don’t believe that what’s on-trend and what is actually wearable for everyday should be mutually exclusive.
That’s why we lifted this trend of contrast stitching and applied it in a considered way: both trouser styles feature the stitch down the centre of the leg to slim and lengthen, so that you get the trend, but it also helps you look great.
The Stitch Detail Wrap Shirt Dress reinvents the classic black dress for now. Smart enough for the office, cool enough for weekends, the body is a wrap shirt style, with ¾-length sleeves for coverage and contrasting fabric on the collar for a note of interest.
The fit-and-flare skirt draws you in at your slimmest point and is finished with a removable belt, offering different styling options from one piece. What’s more, the whole thing is crafted from crease-free fabric, so whether you’re at your desk all day or on the move from morning to evening, you can be sure this midi dress will look sharp all the way.
Adopting our iconic swing shape for outerwear, there was only one name option for this number: our Icon Stitch Detail Swing Coat. The perfect spring coat, the 60s-inspired shape fits perfectly over knits and tops thanks to the relaxed fit across the shoulders and arms, creating a lean silhouette. We’ve concealed the chunky zip fastening for a completely sleek finish, whilst a statement button detail in contrasting white adds a modern spin.
Style with literally everything, from denim at the weekend (we love the idea of pairing it with a fresh white tee or jumper and light-wash jeans), and with tailored trousers and crisp shirting during the week.
