Clare Hornby talks to Sunday Times Style about ringing in 2019

‘How to do out out dressing’

Speaking to Sunday Times Style about what she’ll be wearing over the festive period, ME+EM founder Clare Hornby rounds up her go-tos for serious style success.

Clare on her festive wardrobe

“In the morning I’ll be wearing our wide-leg pants with a cashmere hoodie, then I will change into our hot-pink rollneck in the evening.”

“This deep red trouser suit is perfect for a winter party or a wedding. I’ve always been a trouser-suit fanatic and boyish in my style.”

Not sure what shoes to wear? You can’t go wrong with a white trainer or a classic heeled ankle boot (depending on the occasion):

“I almost always wear trainers – Common Projects are my favourite, as they make my legs look longer – but I’ll switch into heels over the festive period. I have two pairs of boots that I love, both by Gianvito Rossi – block heel white boots and pointed patent boots.”

New Year’s Eve

“I’ll be in Thailand with friends and family. I am going to road-test a new dress from next season – it’s blue and floral, so it’s perfect for the floaty but glamorous style of the island.”

If it’s not going to be so warm where you are, trade floaty for luxurious textures and statement details. With its long sleeves and ruching around the tummy, this season’s maxi-length Twist Front Dress is perfect for seeing you into 2019 in style. Throw on our Sporty Shearling Jacket over the top for a warm cover-up that makes a statement.
